Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

October 29, 2016

29 Oct

14937464_10153865707510685_5868206661133712805_nWe went to our local Pumpkin Patch yesterday for Paisley’s class. The kids had a blast and Paisley thought it was neat that Mom and Dad came along. They have a petting zoo, diamond dig, hayrides, movie, inflatables, barn slide, carnival, and several other activities. 14639891_10153865707655685_453090058975423931_n14595642_1307876635899875_7157727373222055026_n14900544_10153865707590685_4434434752944352698_n 14955789_10153865707490685_3934380421762881582_n After the field trip we went to lunch with Paisley’s bestie and parents followed by a glorious three hour nap before our October Supper Club. Such a fun Friday.

Paisley’s Storybook Pumpkin

October 25, 2016

Junie B Jones Storybook Pumpkin From farmgirlblogs.com

Paisley had her first school project due today and we had a blast making it together. All of the kids at her school are putting together a storybook pumpkin patch at the library. Kids were to transform a pumpkin into one of their favorite book characters. Over the last month, I’ve started to read the Junie B Jones series to Paisley. They were some of the first chapter books I started reading as a little girl and I knew Paisley would love this silly and onrey Kindergarten girl. I was a little worried since they are chapter books and less pictures but she has really enjoyed them and I try to be as animated and “like” Junie as can be.

Since we are really into the series right now, we chose to do Junie from “Junie B. Has a Monster Under Her Bed.” Junie B Jones Storybook Pumpkin From farmgirlblogs.comWe got together at my parent’s house and since our Grand is in town, she helped us with the project which made this whole night even more fun. Paisley helped me paint the pumpkin and then Grand and Paisley made all of the hair from different colors of yarn. While I hot glued it on, Grand read the book which was too cute while we assembled Junie. We used a combo of Junk Gypsy paint from Farm Girl to do her face. The bow was from a roll of glitter tulle I had laying around the shop.

Too cute! A sweet memory I won’t forget. So glad Grand was a part of it. 14591725_1304942269516672_814333533725201157_n

I loved seeing the photos of so many unique pumpkins in the patch. Being a school mom is the best. Love these memories with my girls.

Paisley’s 1st Day of School

August 17, 2016

17 Aug

Paisley's 1st Day of Pre-K 7It happened. This morning I woke up to a precious little school girl. We curled hair, put on our pretty new dress and out the door with her backpack and lunchbox in tow, went to the first day of school. I can’t believe this day is here. It was so weird packing my first lunch last night. She was thrilled for her new adventure and I am secretly counting down the hours until we can pick her up and find out how her day was.Paisley's 1st Day of Pre-K 1Paisley's 1st Day of Pre-K 2Paisley's 1st Day of Pre-K 414045712_10153668026255685_2120568498811521709_n IMG_8081Since daddy was on shift last night, we stayed at Moemoe and Papaw’s house and met him at school. She couldn’t wait to give him a hug.IMG_8085IMG_8083 IMG_8082We were greeted by her teacher, Mrs. Foran, put her back pack and lunch box in the cubby and she went right inside. Without giving her mom and dad any love! LOL Yes, I made her come back for a hug and a kiss. IMG_8087IMG_8084I was fine until I pulled out of the school drive but I know that this too shall pass and its a new season of life that we are entering. I am extremely thankful that she was eager to go and didn’t have any trouble. I know she will have a blast and is going to learn so much this year. I’m blessed to be this little girl’s mama and pray that the Lord will continually surround everyone at her Elementary. Time, please slow down.
