A Brave Princess

April 24, 2015

IMG_5834

I am amazed at how imaginative our little girl is. I posted a couple of weeks ago this photo of Paisley playing outside. She is really into princesses but makes a twist and has them as the saviors instead of the princes. In her hand is her sword {our yard stake} as she is on her horse fighting “Maleficent the bad dragon” to save her kingdom. I just watch in awe as I see her coming up this own little play world with nothing but fresh air, an imaginary horse, and a stick. I pray that she always has a creative outlet of some sort. I know she will do amazing things. She is so smart and funny. It’s a joy to stop everything and watch her play.

IMG_5829Paisley, I pray that you never let anyone hinder your free spirit and creative mind. You make your daddy and I better, you make me step out of my box and think about things more, and you are our brave princess. We love you so much! -Mommy

Pursuit Gathering // Work Together

April 22, 2015

Processed with VSCOcam with hb1 presetYou may have read from my last post about our Pursuit Community gatherings that I go to once a month. I can’t tell you how much of a breath of fresh air it is to get together with a group of positive, God loving business women and just do life and work together. It’s been such a blessing to me to go alongside two of my best friends as well. It really helps me focus on how I want to run my business and who I want it directed towards-and that’s Him. I think it’s been the best thing for my business heart this year.
IMG_6226This month’s theme was “work together” which means a lot of talking and less working. 😉 We met at a quaint little coffee shop, Cuppies & Joe, in Downtown OKC and it was so adorable. It wasn’t anything fancy-old tables, lots of natural light, and coffee. That’s all you need right?Processed with VSCOcam with f2 presetMy shop, Farm Girl, provided the take home gifts this month and how perfect that it went with the theme. I chose to have a friend make cozies to fit the foundation of our group, which is based from Proverbs 31 (we sell the cozies too) and give everyone a Mason Jar to drink from. Because, everyone needs a real mason jar tumbler from Farm Girl.IMG_6242Aubrey and I worked on some tee shirt designs and Jess worked on her business. This lasted about five minutes until we got chatty and just enjoyed the rest of our time together. 😉We spent the rest of the day having lunch and doing a little shopping. That’s a pretty successful day if you ask me.

So thankful to have these girls in my life and I cannot wait for the next meeting.

Nursery Progress

April 21, 2015

IMG_5965We are about 8 weeks out from D Day and have made some huge strides over the last couple of weeks on the nursery. We had the walls painted, furniture moved in, and the decorating has begun. When I get completely finished I will post photos with all of the details so for now, ignore the poor lighting and cell phone photos. One of my favorite “new” pieces is our polka dot rocker that was a gift from my parents. If you have anything in a nursery, this is probably the key piece that you need.

IMG_5952We moved the crib over from Paisley’s room {and re-did her room into a “big girl” room-photos to come} and now just waiting on her custom bedding.

IMG_5981I hung up one of my favorite decor pieces that a friend’s mom made for me. This makes the room.

IMG_6054My friend Jess scored this awesome little shelf while junking one day for $40! It’s getting a little paint makeover this week and will be hung on the wall above her dresser/changing table.

IMG_6086I got her mobile in last week and LOVE it. I registered for one of the sound machines so didn’t think that a traditional mobile was necessary. This one goes perfect with her theme.

IMG_6267We replaced her ceiling fan fixture with a chandelier so I bought this new but vintage style standing fan that pumps out a great amount of air. I LOVE it and will use it forever.

It seems like there is still so much to do but it is all finally coming together. I’ve already washed quite a few of Paisley’s old clothes and put them in Scout’s dresser, organized the closet somewhat, put together her rolling diaper cart we bought from Ikea, and am on the lookout for frames for her hospital and sister photos that we will be taking. I can’t wait for the big nursery reveal. It’s a small space but perfect for our little girl.

Our baby shower is this weekend and I can’t wait to see what our little girl will be blessed with. So thankful for loving friends and family.
