Daddy Daughter Dance

March 30, 2015

10463941_10152675323730685_7953119606928425849_nThis weekend, one of the ministries in our Church had their second annual Daddy/Daughter dance. I was SO excited that Paisley and Zack were able to go this year. We have been planning for weeks and she’s asked me daily if “today” was her date with Daddy. 🙂 Our church really stresses the imporatnce of father figures in girls lives and teaching them how they should be treated. I love this concept and am so thankful that Paisley’s future spouse has so much to live up to. 🙂 I couldn’t pick a better daddy for our girls.

Hanger // Dress // Headband // Shoes

We bought her dress on our getaway weekend last week and the shoes were a steal and on sale! 🙂 Early Saturday morning, her and I picked up her corsage at a local greenhouse and had lunch while daddy cleaned up their carriage for the night. I curled her hair “like Rapunzel” by request and her headband didn’t make it too long so we had to settle for a glittered clip. She had so much fun getting all dolled up and putting on lips {lip gloss}.

PicMonkey CollageHubs sent me some photos from their night. I love that they had so much fun. 🙂

I am so thankful for our church who realizes the importance of “dating” our kids and putting on events like this.

Memories to last a lifetime.

Little Things // Pursuit Gathering

March 25, 2015

IMG_5639

I am going to start linking up again with my friend Jess and her Little Things Link-up each Wednesday! How appropriate that we are posting our same little road trip today. 🙂 You guys, I can’t tell you how full my heart is right now. Two years ago, I heard about Pursuit 31-a conference in Rome, Georgia. It is for photographers and small business owners who share a love for the Lord and strive to keep Him as the center of their business and life. Just the experience that they shared about it left me dreaming to go. However, I didn’t own a business at that time. When I opened Farm Girl, the conference was laid on my heart again. I knew that they pretty much sold out the first day and wanted so badly to go but I didn’t want to go alone. I asked Jess and talked to her about it and on a whim one morning we had planned a trip to Georgia for a year later.
Pursuit sets up small groups in your area to meet each month. Each gathering has a different theme where we meet other women who own similar businesses and share our hearts, experiences, and love for what God is doing in our lives. My dear friend Aubrey attends the gatherings as well but due to injury couldn’t come at this time. I am so excited for next month when we can have a huge girls day for the three of us. 🙂
IMG_5624This month we had our gathering at Southwind Hills Barn Venue. I can’t describe how gorgeous it is. Every little detail about this place is just phenomenal.

We had a pretty little table set up for us with brunch snacks and began to mingle with others we hadn’t met yet. It is such a privilege to get to know these women. We talked about balance in business and the conversation was such a blessing. We laughed, cried, and answered a lot of hard questions that personally hit home with me. It is so easy as a business owner to let it OWN your life. Getting in the way of family time, missing out on precious moments with your children, husband, and those times that you can’t take back. When we left, I felt so refreshed, rejuvenated, and inspired to tackle my work in a new and positive way. I found redirection to find balance in my work life as well as personal while setting goals and placing intimate quiet time with the Lord first.

11124617_10103052150782257_7130646184752197330_oIt’s amazing how much the Lord has moved this week. And, oddly enough, how the conversation of trusting that He WILL move if we listen and persevere was our big message at church and Life Group on Sunday. I am so thankful for positive friendships and for people like Jess that he has placed in my life.10582855_10103052180018667_1163714129170383027_oIMG_5646Each month we get a little take home gift. These sweet little verses were provided by Southwind and I love looking at it on my jewelry cabinet while getting ready each morning. It’s a daily reminder that I am a part of something so sweet and special. I volunteered to bring gifts next month and I can’t wait to share those with you! After we left, I took Jess to a hoppin’ little burger joint in Ada and she caught up on some shopping at the store. I had a blast with her and cannot wait until next month!ItsTheLittleThings-blog (1)If you are a creative and do not have an outlet to pour your heart into and receive encouragement, I highly recommend finding a Pursuit Group. It is a game changer and so worth being a part of. Be sure to link up your little things with Jess each Wednesday! 🙂

Paisley has been growing and maturing SO MUCH. I can’t believe how much she has changed just in the last month. We have finally mastered potty training. Basically in about a week we were in big girl panties, going to the potty on our own, and with very few accidents. She just picked it up and hasn’t looked back. I think pushing her {a year ago} was the worst thing. It really had to be her own idea.

“Potty Pops” were a hit as well. 🙂 She is so SMART and FUNNY! She is constantly making Zack and I laugh until we cry and is the sweetest little entertainment. I love her spirit. Strong willed, genuine, and sweet.

We have been really enjoying spring and playtime outside. We’ve been playing ball, eating dinner on the front porch, taking golf cart rides at Moe Moe and Papaw’s, and playing with the horses. IMG_5676IMG_5673I’ve really been trying to cherish our one on one with her since we only have a couple of months left as a family of three. She will always be my first and my baby girl. I am so excited to see her become a big sister. I know she is going to rock it and be such a great influence, teacher, and friend.

Mommy and Daddy love you, Paisley girl.
