Surprise Birthday Weekend

February 17, 2014

My husband is the sweetest. For two months now he has been planning a birthday weekend for me that I had no idea about. πŸ™‚ Saturday, six of my best friends as well as my husband showed up at my house and took me out for my birthday. It was a much needed weekend and I am so blessed with awesome people in my life. Even though we were missing a few due to prior obligations, it was perfect.
We had dinner at Outback Steakhouse and I have to say that I haven’t laughed that hard in such a long time. So much fun!
My husband and his goofy face. πŸ™‚
Zack and his best friend/best man, Matt.
It was such a fun night. From dancing and singing our hearts out on the drive to the city to laughing until I cried at dinner, it was a blessing to me and I am so thankful for it. Also, a big thank you to my parents for watching Paisley all night. πŸ™‚
Friday I treated myself to a manicure after clinicals and then picked up sweet pea from daycare.
I love my little Valentine!
Sunday we went to church, had a great nap, and went to our life group. So thankful for this weekend.
Have a great Monday! πŸ™‚

Princess Punch

February 11, 2014

Today I am sharing my favorite party punch recipe! I got this punch from my mom and we use this at about every shower and party we host. It is so good and easy to make.
Ingredients:
1 small {3 oz.} package of strawberry Jell-O
4 cups of water
1 1/2 cups of sugar
1 can of frozen lemonade {I use pink Minute Maid}
1 large can {46 oz} of pineapple juice
2 liters of ginger ale
1. At least 24 hours before the event you will need to prepare the punch. Dissolve jello and sugar into water. If you use hot water it dissolves faster. Add lemonade, pineapple juice, and mix well. Pour into a deep container and freeze overnight.
2. The day of the event, take punch out of freezer and let it defrost a little. I usually give it an hour. Scoop out of your container and put it into your punch bowl. My bowl is large so I scoop out the entire container and then add 1 liter of ginger ale over the top.
We absolutely love this punch and it always goes quickly. We make about 2 to 4 containers depending on how many guests we have. I hope you enjoy! Let me know if you try it! πŸ™‚

Paisley’s “Olivia” Birthday Party

February 10, 2014

We threw Paisley an “Olivia the Pig” birthday party on Saturday and it was a blast! I had so much fun planning this party and love the way everything turned out. I chose to have it at a boutique in our town. They have a party room in the back of the store and it was just perfect for the amount of guests we had. I am so thankful that a lot of family and friends were able to come despite this crazy winter weather in Oklahoma.
I am so thankful for my dear friend, Becca, who designed a lot of the party decor! She makes our Christmas cards every year and is also the designer of my blog. Check out her business here. πŸ™‚ She was such a huge help and always comes up with the cutest graphics! The invites (above) as well as everything else were exactly what I had in mind.
This little table was right when you walked in. Goodie boxes and a few gifts were here.
The gable boxes were from Birthday Express. My mom and I had fun putting these together. We included a few of Paisley’s favorite things; red heart shaped sunglasses, candy, fruit roll up, bottle of apple juice, chap stick, and hand sanitizer. πŸ™‚
I love how open the room was. They provided the chair covers and sashes as well as the paper lanterns which I thought was very sweet and added character to the room.
Drink station.
Water bottle labels were made by JJD.
This banner was from Birthday Express. We weaved in jute and secured with tacks.
I will be sharing the punch recipe tomorrow on the blog! My mom and I serve this punch at about every party or shower we host and it is always a hit. πŸ™‚
Paper straws were from a local store in our town.
The pig snouts were so easy to make! All you need is craft foam, dowel rods, scissors, a sharpie, and hot glue! I made all of these in about 10 minutes.
Everyone seemed to enjoy them for props. πŸ™‚
Our table centerpieces where pictures of Olivia, Paisley, and Rule of Life signs.
The picture frames were an IKEA on Amazon steal. I got each for under $2.
All of the chalkboard Rule of Life and Olivia signs were designed by JJD. Please do not steal these images and prints.
The signs in the frames were one of my favorite decorations. πŸ™‚
Paisley’s cake table.
The banner was also designed by JJD. I used a hole punch and attached it all with red glitter tulle.
The cake table set up was so fun! The cake stand is actually my soap holder in my kitchen. You may have seen it here or here on the blog. πŸ™‚
The plush Olivia pig is from Zulily. I bought the book at Target and had all of the guests sign it and include a birthday wish for Paisley. Keepsakes like that are my favorite and I am sure she will cherish it someday. πŸ™‚
I was so impressed with the cake. It was perfect and tasted amazing! We had white on top and chocolate on bottom. My mom ordered it from a local bakery (who also made our wedding cake) and they never seem to disappoint. The cake topper my mom had also found off of Amazon.
My mom made the cupcakes and the toppers were from JJD. Napkins, plates, and balloons were bought from Birthday Express.
My Aunt Tammy and Paisley. Pais wasn’t too hip on the party until we blew out candles and opened presents. I am hoping that next year she will enjoy it a little more. πŸ™‚
My Mom and Dad “Moe Moe + Paw Paw” helping Miss P open presents. She was all business.
Book Lover. I also bought her outfit from Zulily.
Party fun.
Sister in the middle, her bestfriend, and boyfriend. Love them! πŸ™‚
I am so happy with the way the party turned out and thankful for all of the help from my mom, husband, and aunt who came early. It was so cute and we all had a great time.
Find the party board here on Pinterest! Feel free to re-pin. πŸ™‚
It was such a special day and I am so overwhelmed with how loved our sweet girl is. She means so much to so many. Thank you to all who came and everyone who wished her a Happy Birthday on Friday! πŸ™‚
