A Paisley Update

April 28, 2013

What a day/morning.
Paisley is down for a nap so I am going to give a quick update on the blog from all of the craziness and prayer requests we had this morning since it’s hard to update everyone via different social media.
About 7:00 this morning Paisley woke up crying and felt warm. Zack had gone into the kitchen to get her some Motrin (because she’s been running a low grade fever for about a week) and I had given her a sippy cup of water. When she got done drinking she handed her cup back to me and went into a seizure.
We went through this seizure scare back in January but at that time we were battling the flu which had caused her high temp and seizure.
After several pokes, samples, and Popsicles later, we are finally home. Based on her urine sample, she has a UTI which may be causing this fever. I had no idea she had one-we change her diaper frequently, she isn’t red in that area, and to my understanding a UTI will have a really fowl smell? She doesn’t have any of that. We haven’t had any juice in our house for about two weeks-only water so I am a little concerned about how that came about. Any of my nurse blogger friends have any comments on this? I would love some insight.
I am praying that this is the cause of this rising temperature and seizure and that somehow we can get her health back on track. This month has seemed like a roller coaster of doctor and ER visits with a dose of some sort of medicine every six hours.
I know we are way better off than a lot of other people in this world and I am so thankful for the health that we do have but it is so hard to see your baby like this. I have so much appreciation for parents who deal with this and who live in hospitals with their kids.
Tomorrow I will schedule an appointment with her pediatrician and we will go from there. We may be referred to a neurologist as well just to rule that possibility out.
As of right now she has drank about two cups of water, ate really well, and is down for a nap with her antibiotic. Praying for a quick recovery and that we can get this resolved.
I would like to thank everyone for the kind words and prayers. We are so blessed with amazing friends and family. I will try to keep things updated on the blog as much as I can but if I am on a hiatus then you know I am with her.
Thank you to Aunt Tammy, my Mother-in-law, Mimi, Papaw, Papa, and Justin for coming by the hospital to check on her!
Also, we lost my Uncle this morning. If you wouldn’t mind to say a little prayer for my Aunt for peace and comfort during this time I would appreciate it so much.

A Weekend at Grand’s

April 27, 2013

Last weekend we drove to Texas to see my Grand. We usually try to go down for a visit once a month. I love going to her house but I love getting to spend time with her most.
Grand always teaches me (and Zack) about the Lord and I love our long (and sometimes late night) talks. It makes my heart so full that she is ours and that she gets to spend time with Paisley and teach her some of the things she has taught me. She says that we always spoil her but she is the one that does the spoiling.
She’s been working on her garden since February so we spent some time in it on Saturday and then she watched Paisley while Zack and I did some home essential shopping (faucets, lighting, etc.) at Lowes. We ate, we laughed, we talked a lot, and also watched the rest of Season 2 of Downton Abbey. If you haven’t seen that show, you should. So addicting and I love the English humor. I love the time I get to spend with her.

House Progress-Metal

April 26, 2013

Yesterday we had some major progress on the house! The south wall is up as well as part of the roof and three feet up all around the house! Now it is looking a lot bigger to me.
MY PORCH!!! So far, my absolute favorite part of our home. Look how long this thing is! I can’t wait to put some rockers and flower pots on it. I am also going to stain it. Any suggestions on a color?
Looking from our bathroom to the other side of the house.
I know what you are probably thinking. “This chick is flat out building a barn to live in. How Oklahoman of her.” Well yes, a lot of barns are built with metal BUT I promise you, this will have Sheetrock and everything just like a “real” house. I am even investing in some shutters and windows. HA! =)
The south wall. I am really happy with the two color combinations I picked out. Now to pick out what color I am going to paint my front door……..thoughts?
Standing on the back side of our house. Our french doors will be back here to walk onto our patio.
Dad and Zack burning some of our brush and cleaning up around the house.
Not that this photo should excite you as much as it does me but we have electric to run to the house now! See people, I promise it will be like a “real” house. Most barns don’t have electricity! =)
I am so excited! I hope by next week we will have all of the walls up and we can start to spray on our insulation and move on with this process!!!!
